Sketches for Landmark Design

It is a tricky tree house planning to construct besides the exit of St Stephen College which contains the story of Huh Shih's five days visit to Hong Kong in 1950.

The entrance and exit of the tree house. When getting to it, you have to carefully think and explore then to experiment because of the only one available door there.

Inside the house, several story boards and different shapes related to Huh shih are installed randomly. Visitors are able to move it and finally get a full picture when the all pieces are fixed together like a puzzle. It make a interaction between the installation and people.t

If the whole piece story board is revived. Interesting physical mutation will be occurring. Light from the perforated scratching side (showing in the 2nd sketches) diffuses into the plentiful tiny holes and cause dramatic light transition graph on the air of the tree house. Fantastic!

The Lil’( Lil’ Trapezium) chair was designed as simple and lightweight chair made from 100% renewable resources.The angled panel provides comfort for longer period of time usage. The trapeziform legs, panel, shape with slightly spreading angles all make the chair stable, particular and  lovely.Simplicity, perfect proportion and angularity tell you the perpetuity of the chair.Time will tell its invincibility.

Here the tableware acts as encourgement to push  backpackers forward and continue to seek goals.

Backpackers or alphinists have to travel with a large-scale rucksack.They always get a chance to get stuck in the habit in eating canned foods to save money and space. Back to the primitive environment and lifestyle,different challenges may be confronted by the true backpackers and mountaineers.With the coming of difficulty,they may be feeble in certain circumstance.Encourgement help to relieve distress among them and push them forward  and continue to seek their goals

A philosophy “ when you gain something you lose something (and vice versa)” is made important. The bowls with one side missing one side giving. Both are necessary to build the integrity. And hence failure is essential for success.

Loveogap

It is a combination of plant and light. Hopefully it can be green light for a bad relationship.

Planting is more or less the projection of how a relationship between parents and children.How you raise a plant and so how your parents raise you.It's assumed that people could have reflection thru planting. It acts as an interface for family members to talk with each other so  as to facilitate their communication.

  The design consists of two connected lamp flower pots,one for child,

  and one for parent. (Of course, it can also be applied to siblings.)

The lamp is divided into two parts. Children are responsible for the upper part of their own pots and so the parents. The lower part 'd always show the status of others.

The level of nursing, love and care given by users would directly affect the lighting of the lamp. It is interactive. In between those two parts light, there’s a gap which tells them what the relationship status between them is.



Kam.N

NG KAM SHEUNG (1988-), a talented designer, who is currently studying in Hong Kong Polytechnic University and major in Industrial Product Design. No obstacle was too great for Kam to overcome before entering the field of design. It is a fresh and big challenge for her. There will be loads of unknown and surprise taking place in her future career.

Kam declared that DESIGN is to bring about fictitious ideas into reality. She thinks that”Design is to design a design to produce a design” is void of content but pretended to be profound. She opposes hypocrisy but advocates genuineness.

Kam was especially interested in fashion, philosophy, language and art. Everything you interested in can be applied in your design. Design is life performance.
